Clinical Assistant Professor
Radiology provides doctors, as well as our patients, with a unique view of what is happening inside the body. For this reason, radiology is often referred to as the โ€œeyes of medicine.โ€ It is in this context that I find deep fascination with my chosen specialty. I appreciate the opportunity to use imaging guidance to illuminate the inner workings of the body. This enables me to perform minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and successfully manage many medical conditions. I specialize in treating patients who have blood clots, liver disease, and varicocele, a condition that can contribute to male infertility. Making just a pinhole-sized incision, I use continuous, real-time X-ray images, ultrasound, and interactive CT scans to guide catheters and innovative medical equipment to the surgical site. By pairing technology with surgical expertise, I am able to provide my patients with nonsurgical treatments that allow most to return to their usual activities within a few days. I follow up closely with my patients, and the relationships I build with them are one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. I am the director of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Research Program. I conduct research and clinical trials in areas that include venous thromboembolism, portal hypertension, knee osteoarthritis, geniculate artery embolization, and menโ€™s health interventions. I am committed to standing at the forefront of research and diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, contributing to patient care by using the most advanced technologies available. Demonstrating my commitment to excellence, I am certified in interventional and diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. I am also certified by the European Board of Interventional Radiology.
