My research is focused on new techniques for magnetic resonance imaging. One particular area of interest is the development of radiofrequency (RF) coil arrays for a wide variety of high field and multi-nuclear MRI applications. We have implemented coils to measure metabolic activity using 31P-MRI and cell viability using 23Na-MRI. In recent years, my laboratory has also begun to explore radiotransparent RF coil arrays that minimize beam interference to support high performance MRI in hybrid systems such as MR-guided radiotherapy and PET-MR.
