Yvonne W. Lui, MD

Professor and Vice-Chair of Research, Radiology
I am passionate about developing and using new imaging tools to understand, diagnose, and treat diseases more effectively. I am the associate chair for artificial intelligence at NYU Langone’s Department of Radiology, where I lead a pioneering program to leverage machine learning to advance medical imaging science. As a clinician–scientist, I teach at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone’s Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences. I lead a research laboratory in the study of brain injury and serve as senior editor for the American Journal of Neuroradiology. In my previous role, I served as the section chief of neuroradiology at NYU Langone. I am devoted to using innovative methods of brain and spinal cord imaging to improve the lives of patients and train the next generation of radiologists. I am a member of the board of directors for the American Society of Neuroradiology and have served as oral board examiner for the American Board of Radiology. I am a charter member of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering review committee, and past president of the New York Roentgen Society.
